Gary Elder

Managing Partner

Gary Elder grew up in Charlotte County, Virginia. A graduate of Randolph Henry High School, he earned a B.A. in History from Hampden-Sydney College. His legal education was completed at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate. Following a period practicing law in Washington D.C., Gary returned to Southside Virginia in 2011 and has been in private practice since that time.

 

Gary represents clients in matters involving real estate and estate planning and administration. He also serves as general counsel to a multitude of companies and corporations and to local governments, including counties, towns, industrial development authorities, boards of zoning appeals and planning commissions. When necessary, he litigates cases arising from these and other practice areas.

Beyond his legal work, Gary is actively involved in the community. He has served as a director of a multitude of local charitable organizations and has also served as President of the Hampden-Sydney College “Southside” Alumni Club. His deep local ties and broad experience make him a valuable asset to his individual, corporate and government clients.
