Catherine Kline Douglass, an attorney with deep legal roots as a third-generation lawyer, is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. She graduated cum laude from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2018, earning a degree in Political Science. Continuing her legal education, Catherine attended Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama, where she was recognized as a merit scholarship recipient and a Scholar of Merit for Secured Transactions, graduating cum laude in 2021.

 

Immediately after law school, Catherine began her career as an Assistant Attorney General in Montgomery, Alabama. In this role, she primarily represented the State of Alabama in all appeals before both state and federal appellate courts, gaining significant experience in appellate procedure and substantive law.

 

Catherine relocated to Virginia in 2023 and joined the firm in Farmville in March 2024. Her primary practice areas include estate planning and administration, real estate law, municipal and local government law, guardianship matters, and the representation of businesses and individuals in various civil matters. Catherine’s diverse background provides her with a comprehensive understanding of fundamental legal principles and the intricacies of the legal process.

 

Catherine and her husband, Jay, who serves as corporate counsel for Kyanite Mining Corporation, reside in Farmville, Virginia.
